Trees For Trout - "Ecocycle" Your Christmas Tree

  • Deep Brook Kiosk Old Farm Road Newtown, CT (map)

Volunteers from the Candlewood Valley chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Pootatuck Watershed Association, will turn your natural Christmas trees into important habitat for wild trout in the Deep Brook in Newtown. Your tree will join other in helping stabilize stream banks, reduce erosion and create refuge habitat for juvenile trout and other aquatic life. A healthy trout environment means a healthy aquifer system!

CVTU Vice President Neil Baldino will lead this effort again in early January. Our collection date for the trees is Saturday, January 4th, beginning at 9:00 am. We’ll meet at the same location as last year, off Old Farm Road in Newtown, back behind the dog park, down by the Deep Brook Kiosk.

Look for additional details here and in our regular emails, or reach out to Neil at neil.baldino@gmail.com.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Please, no synthetic trees or trees with tinsel or flocking material.
