John Lynch is a 37-yr old Marine Corps and Afghanistan combat veteran.
He became heavily involved in Flyfishing while looking for something to improve his mental health and stability in his daily life, while living PTSD related to his military service, as well as his career as a Professional Firefighter.
John has had the pleasure of working and learning under the guidance of his mentor and friend, Antoine Bisseaux, for the last 4 years. Antoine has asked John to carry on in his place when he decides to retire. John enjoys working with the Local Fly Co at shows and networking with other guides. He does a lot of volunteer work as an ambassador for Project Healing Waters, and Veterans Healing on the Fly, as well as Reel Recovery and many more.
He started Semper Fly LLC in May of 2026 to give back to other veterans and further pursue his passion for fly fishing. John’s goal is to eventually transition to being a full-time guide and to teach other veterans, first responders, and everyone afflicted by PTSD or any kind of addiction, cancer, etc., about fly fishing and its calming nature and to know that they are not alone.
John thinks that no matter who you fish with, client or guide, you will learn something beneficial, and you never know who you will help.
